KINGS COLLEGIATE SCHOOL, SEPT. '08 - DECEMBER '08

The mission of Kings Collegiate Charter School is to prepare each student for college. As part of the Uncommon Schools network of high-performing charter schools, we are dedicated to closing the achievement gap. Our vision is that Kings Collegiate Charter School will help redefine what families and students can expect from an urban public school.

Kings Collegiate Charter School's educational program is based upon Three Pillars:

  • We believe that creativity flourishes within a structured academic environment. Good work cannot occur unless there is a safe and orderly environment in and out of the classroom.
  • We have high academic and behavioral expectations. High expectations demand significant amounts of extra support before, during, and after school and on Saturdays.
  • We know that without great teachers, nothing else matters. Teachers must have the time and professional tools and resources to do their jobs effectively.
