You can make a difference! In Motion offers many opportunities to get involved and make an impact on the lives of our promising students. By volunteering, you not only help us keep our costs low, but you also help ensure that the funds we raise provide direct services to our students.

Not able to volunteer? If you Make A Donation, you will help In Motion students become exposed to the performing arts and build confidence in their own ability to achieve for the rest of their lives. Your donation will help pay for supplies, rehearsal space, professional instruction, uniforms, trips and much more. Every dollar helps us to provide programs that focus on personal growth and achievement for our promising students.

There are many ways that you can get involved with In Motion:

BECOME AN INSTRUCTOR

We are looking for qualified performing artists who want to contribute their talent and time to children. Each instructor is responsible for teaching class twice a week for 1 hour. The minimum commitment is 3 months. Instructors may continue to teach beyond the 3 month period based on their performance.

Mallory, a dance instructor, who recently taught dance to 10 girls had this to say about her experience as an In Motion instructor: "Throughout these 10 weeks I have witnessed my girls work together as a team, discipline their minds and bodies to remember the movement, and motivate each other to be the best students they can be. There has been tremendous growth from the first class, and above all their creative self-expression has really encouraged each girl to shine in a confident way. Enjoy watching them as much as I had training them. In the end I think they taught me more than I taught them."

All instructors must submit to a screening process, which includes: submitting a resume, an interview with an In Motion staff member, and fingerprinting by the Board of Education.

BECOME A PARTICIPATING SCHOOL

Each program is held at a qualifying New York school. If you are a principal or teacher in a school targeting underserved children, contact us for more information to host an In Motion program for the students at your school.
